Maura Medaglia is the founder and designer behind Motif Motif, a pattern-driven brand borne from her lifelong love of art, interiors and fashion. She always knew she wanted to run her own business one day, but as a child found herself daydreaming more about what she'd wear and what beautiful place she'd be when she'd make it more than the work itself, yet it still came as a surprise to her when the first seeds of Motif Motif sprouted. What began as a casual side-gig designing digital scrapbook papers quickly evolved, as she realized her designs would be better suited to throw pillows than the limitations of 12x12 inch backlit squares - let alone the fact that she'd never scrapbooked a day in her life.

Her hand-drawn illustrations are inspired by nature, architecture, experiences and ornamentation she encounters in daily life and printed in the Northeastern United States onto the finest quality Belgian linen. Her obsession with quality home goods and finishes is present as ever in her latest work, which now also incorporates luxurious accessories and gifts. 

Her vivacity, sense of humor and undying inquisitiveness carry her work as she draws inspiration from her surroundings. A lover of collected traditional interiors, Maura designs her patterns with layering in mind, picturing how a room incorporating her designs might come together. Sophisticated yet bold at times, her work is a blend of styles, varying between painterly, romantic strokes and geometric influences that can be incorporated into any discerning interior. 

Motif Motif is based in Maura’s home state of Pennsylvania, outside of Philadelphia.
